The City of Glasgow offers water, sewer and trash services. Onyx Trash Service (800-778-7652) contracts with the City of Glasgow to provide trash pickup. Weekly pickup is on Tuesday. All trash must be at the curb by 7 a.m. Residential solid waste must be stored in containers of not more than 35 gallons nor less than 20 gallons of normal capacity. Containers must be leak-proof, waterproof and fitted with a fly-tight lid. The containers must have handles, bails or other suitable lifting devices or features. They must be lighweight and sturdy construction. The weight of each individual container must not exceed 75 pounds. Curbside recycling is also available to all city residents. Recyclable items will be picked up every Friday and must be placed in clear bags. Recyclables include cardboard (detergent boxes, kleenex boxes, corrugated cardboard, etc.), newspaper and plastic (milk jugs, plastic soda bottles, etc.) must be washed out and all lids and spouts removed. Metal cans and aluminum are also accepted. Styrofoam, packing materials, junk mail and other types of paper are not recyclable. All bills for water, sewer and trash service must be paid in full by the 10th of each month for the prior month's usage. If payment is not made at that time, a 10% late fee is added. If the total bill is not paid by the 5th of the following month, the City may disconnect the service. If the service is disconnected, the bill must be paid in full, plus a $25 reconnect fee. The city charges $150 for a water deposit, which must be paid in advance to connection.
